Oh, what a beautiful day this was!
Catching up with Marta and Manuel over coffee and cakes in Patisserie Valerie in Spitalfields, London was so much fun before their wedding. Hearing all about the hay bales... the country fair feel... the long table that would seat everyone for the wedding meal... it all sounded perfect and I couldn't wait to capture their day!
Having travelled up to Oxford the day before the wedding, I was raring to go on the big day and couldn't believe how beautiful the countryside was on my drive to the Machado Gallery in Warwickshire (the location of the bridal preparations).
Marta, her Mum and her bridesmaids were all getting ready when I arrived and, despite the language barrier, with much smiling and nodding we all had great fun with the photos :-)
Then it was on to the ceremony at St Gregory The Great Roman Catholic Church, Stratford-upon-Avon. This church is so pretty!! And, it was here that I got my first glimpse of all of Marta and Manuel's friends and family - lots of laughter and BUNDLES of personality. This was going to be one BIG celebration!
After the ceremony, the guests all hopped onto a coach which took them to a private residence near Banbury, Oxford. Wow, is all I can say. When I arrived, the lovely wedding planner, Emily, showed me around and it was like something out of a dream. Reception drinks in The Secret Garden, which was full of hay bales, hearts hanging from trees and rustic jars attached to the outside brickwork. Simply stunning!! Oh, and I forgot, the natural lake that is on the property... more on this later. Then the tour continued to the marquee, outdoor games area, dressing up area and of course the stunning long table where everyone was due to eat later in the day.
When everyone arrived on the coach, the party really got started. Think (very) hot sunshine, beer, great food and lots of laughter (oh and some messing about by the lake trying to balance on one leg without falling in - the guests rather than me - but, of course, I was there ready to capture it all :-) ).
Post-dinner the dancing began and boy did they dance!! Latin fever all the way!
The day was rounded off with the most stunning sunset. I snuck off with Marta and Manuel to capture some last portrait shots as the sun went down and Manuel even managed to have a conversation with a sheep in the neighbouring field (true story!).
Beautiful couple. Fantastic wedding and I feel so honoured to have been there to capture it all.
Enjoy the photos and, of course, comments, likes and shares are always welcome :-) xx
